Previews of 2010 Jade Dramas
Below are high-quality trailers of series to be released/filmed/proposed next year. Please be patient as the videos may take some time to load/buffer depending on your connection.
Righteous Sea of Heroic Love (巾幗梟雄之義海豪情)
Cast: Wayne Lai, Sheren Tang, Susan Tse, Ngo Ka Nin, Raymond Wong, Fala Chen, etc.

Epic trailer! I’m so relieved to see that the sequel to Rosy Business is not a comedy. Set during World War II in Guangzhou, China, the spin-off drama deals with internal struggles to suppress the trade of opium and invasion by Japanese soldiers. I believe this has huge potential to surpass its predecessor.
The Legend of Pu Songling (蒲松齡)
Cast: Steven Ma, Linda Chung, Sunny Chan, Fala Chen, etc.

Pu Songling is the author of Strange Tales of Liaozhai, a collection of stories about ghosts and spirits written in the Qing dynasty. Many have been adapted into live-action form, particularly in TVB’s Dark Tales. It is said that Pu Songling opened a tea house and offered free drinks to travelers in exchange for their stories. I’m intrigued with this new take on his life, but the last mythical series released were complete duds. Please don’t disappoint this time!
Mysteries of Love (談情說案)
Cast: Raymond Lam, Tavia Yeung, Kenneth Ma, Bernice Liu, etc.

I love series with scientific themes, and it’s refreshing to see Raymond Lam and Tavia Yeung in new roles. However, there are some bits of cheesy dialogue. I’m still going to give this one a chance.
Quarantined 7-Day Romance (隔難七日情)
Cast: Bobby Auyeung, Bowie Lam, Sonija Kwok, Myolie Wu, Sammul Chan, etc.

Random, but hilarious clip! The cast is almost too good to be true for this kind of series. I’m curious to find out how the actions of 7 other hotel guests affect the life of one.
Cops (刑警)
Cast: Felix Wong, Michael Miu, Jessica Hsuan, Nancy Wu, etc.
Get the Flash Player to see this player.
The story of a cop breaking the law and taking matters into his/her own hands has been done to death, but perhaps the writers introduce new twists here. At least the acting department is covered by Felix Wong and Michael Miu.
Twilight Investigation (囧探查過界)
Cast: Wong He, Linda Chung, Raymond Wong, Johnson Lee, etc.

Very silly and reminds me of D.I.E. Again – not good.
Female Fist (女拳)
Cast: David Chiang, Liu Xuan, Jacky Heung, Law Lok Lam, etc.

Five Flavors of Life (五味人生)
Cast: Esther Kwan, Roger Kwok, Michelle Yim, Derek Kwok, etc.

I’m thrilled that Esther Kwan is returning, but TVB hasn’t produced a great series focusing on food since 1998’s Happy Ever After. I’ll wait for reviews before jumping in.
Can’t Buy Me Love (公主嫁到)
Cast: Charmaine Sheh, Moses Chan, Susanna Kwan, Linda Chung, Fala Chen, Raymond Wong, etc.

I’m actually not sure what to think except this: the animations need to be saved for the bloopers.
Wu Jie Monk (武偈大師)
Cast: Bosco Wong, Sunny Chan, Michael Tse, Kate Tsui, etc.

This looks like a more dramatic yet less entertaining version of Road to Eternity starring Gordon Lam, Marianne Chan, and Rain Lau. I’d rather re-watch that.
Growing Through Life (摘星之旅)
Cast: Damian Lau, Cecilia Yip, Raymond Lam, Bosco Wong, etc.
Get the Flash Player to see this player.
Boring plot. Nothing new.
Forensic Heroes III (法證先鋒III)
Cast: Kevin Cheng, Raymond Cho, Vivien Yeo, Mandy Cho, Leanne Li, etc.

No Tim Sir, no sequel – that has a nice ring to it.

My most anticipated series? Righteous Sea of Heroic Love, of course.
I don’t really like the English title though. And is TVB serious about making Forensic Heroes III?
i agree with you!! Righteous is the one i look forward to the most! Then I think i’ll watch Pu Song Ling since the trailer was really eerie and Mysteries of Love. I hope it lives up to being a Galileo Hk version..and well with the two leads, its a must watch. <3
Hi Lavendar. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. What do you mean by a Galileo version?
[...] the clips of all the Sales series, check out TVB Reflections, she provides HQ clips in her blog and [...]
haha well the mysteries of love is based on the japanese hit drama “Galileo”. Raymond is playing the smart physicist, Galileo. Tavia is playing the female cop that becomes friends with Galileo =]
